9 Simple Rules That Changed My Life as a Founder

Hi, I’m Dina Bahrami, founder and CEO of Nutri Beauties. Lately, I’ve realised I’ve become much more productive and organised compared to before, and that sparked the idea to write this blog.

I wanted to share, in my own friendly language, some of the small but powerful changes I’ve made in my daily life as a founder and business owner, changes that give me more energy, clarity, and balance. And to keep it real, I’m writing this blog in my iPhone Notes instead of using AI, because it helps my mind stay fresh and lets the words flow naturally.

Simple rules for me:

Rule 1: I started using storage facilities to stock Nutri Beauties products. In the early days, I was sending PR packages and fulfilling some customer orders directly from my flat in London with Royal Mail home collection. I think almost everyone starts their business from their own flat, garage, or room, and I was no exception. Now, by using automation tools like Veeqo to integrate my inventory, warehouse, online marketplaces, and courier company, I save a huge amount of time and effort.

Rule 2: I moved in with my brother in a smaller city Liverpool to save on rent (I adore this city 💁🏻‍♀️). This decision allows me to reinvest more money back into my business instead of spending it on high living costs.

Rule 3: Prioritising tasks has been a game-changer. I now allocate specific times during the day for answering emails and being available for work. Before, I felt I had to be online all the time, which was draining me. Now people know when to expect my replies, and it’s been a huge improvement for my health and peace of mind.

Rule 4: I bought a dishwasher. It doesn’t just save time and reduce water consumption. These simple changes save me energy and free up my focus for what matters most. Plus, I noticed that constantly washing dishes was affecting my posture. By making this switch, I’ve gained back precious time and physical comfort.

Rule 5: I wipe the kitchen counter straight away, unload the dishwasher instantly, and organise the washed clothes. I realised that having a more organised and tidy flat directly affects my state of mind. A cleaner space makes me feel more focused, brings positive energy, and actually boosts my overall productivity.

Rule 6: I do a workout every other day, even if it’s not as intense as I’d like. I’ve learned that showing up and doing something is always better than postponing it.

Rule 7: Drinking matcha has been a game-changer for me. Forget the trend, this is my real experience. I mix my daily supplements with it: 10,000 mg of hydrolysed marine collagen peptide and one scoop of keratin. This way, I replace my second coffee of the day with matcha, which is full of antioxidants, while also getting in my essential supplements after the gym. I recently realised 3gr of keratin is needed for body and mind function even if you dont do workout so this is my new supplement that I am adding it to my routine in the past few months.

Rule 8: I read 10 pages of a physical book every night before bed, no audiobooks. For someone who is dyslexic, this is not easy. Reading feels like a nightmare sometimes, but I’ve chosen to step out of my comfort zone and stop using dyslexia as an excuse. I’ve been diving into psychology books lately, and I love it, it helps me better understand people and their behavioural patterns.

Rule 9: No social media 30 minutes before bed and 30 minutes after waking up. This clears my head, improves my sleep quality, and helps me get out of bed faster in the morning.

I hope this helps you, and I would love to hear what has helped you, your own simple rule that has changed your life and improved your quality of living and working.

Let’s consider this blog as part one of my monthly blog as a founder of Nutri Beauties. I’ll be sharing more of these small but powerful rules as life and business continue to teach me new lessons.

Thanks for reading my personal blog as a female founder.

With love,
Dina
